Martha, Mary and Lazarus were friends with Jesus. When Lazarus became ill, Martha asked their friend to come and heal him. Jesus delayed his return, and Lazarus died while Martha was waiting for Jesus to come and perform the miracle she wanted. However, Jesus was going to perform a miracle far greater than the one Martha had requested. Martha’s patience was tested in the waiting, and she even resisted Him when He prepared to give her this greater miracle.
