In this edition of “Thursday Night Encouragement,” we’re going to discover together how to pray BEFORE we even begin to read our Bible. When it comes to reading and benefiting from God’s Word, the need to get our hearts in sync with the God of the Word. And the way we do that is that before we read our Bibles, we pray. But, what do we pray? Watch this video and find out how to pray before you read your Bible!

MEN’S PRAYER BREAKFAST – Saturday mornings at 7:30 in the LPC Sanctuary kitchen.

NO SUNDAY SCHOOL – Sunday, May 28th. Summer Sunday School will begin the following Sunday, June 4th, at 9:30 am.

NO CHILDREN, YOUTH OR SUNDAY NIGHT FELLOWSHIP – Sunday, May 28th.

VBS SNACK DONATIONS – Please drop donations in the black VBS bucket in the Education Building Foyer. Items needed: Adult sized t-shirts, Bags of Pretzel Sticks, Large Boxes of Goldfish Crackers, and Bags of Plain M&M’s. Also needed are ready-to-eat Fruits & Vegetables.

YOUTH POOL PARTY – Sunday, June 4th, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, at the YMCA (Rez), for our Youth and their Families. We’ll bring the food, you bring the fun. RSVP to John Revell at revjrev@gmail.com to let him know if your family will be able to attend.

VBS 2023 – We are traveling to Babylon! June 5th – 8th, 9:00-11:30 am! (Ages 4 by June 5, 2023 – through exiting 5th graders) Register your children HERE.

RYM BAGS – We are asking for church members to provide our youth and chaperones with treat bags for their upcoming RYM trip in June/July. Each youth/chaperone will need a reusable bag filled with water/sports drink, snack, candy, notebook, pen and small little happy. We would also love to provide them with a sweet little note to read while on the way. If you would like to provide a bag please contact Hannah Duke. Bags will need to be turned into the church office by June 19th.

Brittany Wade – Bridal Shower – Sunday, June 11th, at 12 noon (Registered at Emmett Collier Pottery, Crate and Barrel, Mockingbird Marketplace, and Target)

WOMEN’S CONFERENCE – August 19th. Registration at 8:30 am and the Conference begins at 9:00 am. Cost is $20.00 and includes Brunch and Lunch. Emily Hartman will be our Guest Speaker, talking to us about “Gospel Conversations: How to Come Alongside Others with the Beauty of the Gospel”.
