Chuck and Sherrie served in Liberia for two years before attending Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS. Chuck went on to plant and pastor two churches in Florida for 22 years. In 2006, Chuck traveled back to Liberia for the first time since the country’s 14-year civil war. After five years of making these trips, God lead him to resign from his church so that he could join the faculty of Equipping Leaders International (ELI) and focus on training pastors in Liberia.
Chuck became the Executive Director of ELI in 2015. While he continues to work with their 45 national trainers in Liberia, who over the last year walked 500 pastors through their 14 course pastor training curriculum, most of his time is spent stateside leading and supporting their rapidly growing faculty.
Chuck and Sherrie married in 1981. They have three grown sons, two daughter-in-laws, 3 grandsons, and a granddaughter. When they need a break, their first choice is to go fishing.
